Born on 16th January 1974, with birth name Katherine Ann Moss, Kate
Moss is an outgoing English Model who has appeared in over three hundred
magazine covers. People best know her for her waifish figure with
uncommon short height for a model. Kate Moss is also a notorious for
party lifestyle and high profile relationships. She was ranked 2nd in
the 2007 Forbes top earning models as being worth $9 million per annum.
She was born in Addiscombe, Croydon in London. Her parents were Peter
Edward Moss, a travel agent and her mother Linda Rosina who was a
barmaid. She has a younger brother, Nick and a half sister and half
brother. Her parents however got divorced when she was only 13 years.
Kate Moss went to Ridgeway Primary School and later to Riddlesdown High
School, Purlet. She was not a good academics but she was good in sports.
Kate Moss was discovered by Sarah Dukas, who is the Storm Model
Management founder, in 1988 when she was 14 in the JFK Airport. She
began her career after the shooting of Corinne Day black-and-white
photos, styled by Melanie Ward for The Face, a British Magazine. She was
only 16. She later went to become the star model in the 1990s in spite
of her being short.
In the year 1999, Kate Moss was voted the 9th in Maxim’s ’50 sexiest
women after a latter 22nd in FHMs ‘100 sexiest women in 1995. She was
named the sexiest in the Arena, a men’s magazine in the 150th issue. She
later won the sexiest woman NME Award of 2007. Kate Moss went to getting
her first appearance on the British Women’s magazine in 2007, ‘Sunday
Times Rich List,’ She was estimated to be worth $45 million on this
issue, ranking her to the 99th richest women of Britain.
