Mischa Barton, full name Mischa Anne Marsden Barton, is known as Marissa
Cooper in hit TV series The O.C. Barton is a British actress who became
a naturalized citizen of the United States in 2006. She began acting at
8 years old starring in the Off Broadway production of Salvs. She also
appeared in other Off Broadway productions, taking the lead in Twelve
Dreams.
She first appeared on the big screen in Lawn Dogs, a movie that won in
various film festivals all over the world. From then on, she appeared in
several films like The Sixth Sense, St. Trinians, Closing the Ring, and
Notting Hill. She also had several TV appearances before The OC
including All My Children and the remake of Bonnie and Clyde. She was a
guest in Once and Again and Fastlane and was featured in the music video
of Goodbye My Love and Addicted.
When she became Marissa Cooper in The O.C., her fame increased. She left
the show in its third-season finale and ever since then, The O.C. was
never the same. The show ended early in 2007.
Barton also has been in various TV commercials and print ad campaigns.
She has modeled for BeBe, Calvin Klein, Dooney & Bourke, Morgan de Toi,
Jaspal, and Neutrogena. She is now the new face of Herbal Essences.
